BIOSECURITY AT SHOWS
Contact between alpacas at shows is unavoidable and exhibitors must accept the risk that, if present, transmission of disease could occur. The BAS can accept no responsibility for such occurrences.
Please take all practical precautions and do not travel with an animal if there is any doubt as to its healthJuges at show.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
The BAS Public Liability scheme is open to members. The cost is £10 (inclusive of PST) per animal per show. For further details, click here

10–12 April– World Alpaca Conference International Fleece Show
Keble College, Oxford 

Colour championship fleece show competing for the Golden Fleece Awards for the best huacaya and best suri fleece in the world

Fleeces to be delivered to Mandy Wilson, Kilnwood Alpacas, Little Brook Farm, Little Tew, Oxfordshire OX7 4JJ, UK by Saturday 24 March

Entrants have the oppportunity to donate their fleeces for sale with all proceeds going to the Conference Charity, Amantani UK, which provides boarding houses and education for children in Ccorca near Cusco. See www.amantani.org.uk for further details of their work.

Fleeces not donated for sale can either be collected at the World Alpaca Conference or posted back (on receipt of a suitable container and correct postage).

The two winners of the Golden Fleece Awards will be taken for display at the Alpaca 2012 Spring Show, 14–15 April, at the Hand Equestrian Centre near Bristol.

Colour championship for huacaya and suri including Supreme and young handlers. Prize money is available. Supreme champion huacaya and suri will be awarded trophies in the main ring parade on Saturday.

2 June – Kenilworth Show

Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Heart of England Alpaca Group, the alpaca section at the Kenilworth Show will not be running this year. Although very disappointing, the group is working hard to secure the future running of the show.


4 June – Northumberland Show
Tynedale, Corbridge, Northumberland

Colour championship run by the North East and Borders Alpaca Group: huacaya classes including sire's progeny and a suri class which may be split, depending on the entries

Entries only accepted from 3- and 4-year bTB cattle testing parishes. Because of biosecurity measures, entries are limited to eight alpacas per breeder.
