National Show 2026

Welcome to the British Alpaca Society National Show

The BAS National Show is one of the largest and most prestigious alpaca shows in the world, with over 500 alpacas in the Halter Show, the winners of regional shows competing in the Champion of Champions Fleece Show and the Fibre Zone showcasing alpaca products. For 2026 we are at the Staffordshire County Showground for the second time – we were wonderfully well looked after in 2025 and looking forward to an even better event this year.

We are delighted to have four world class judges working in pairs to judge the Halter Show – BAS Judges Nick Harrington-Smith and Roger Clarke and AAA Judges Jude Anderson and Natasha Clark. Nick will also be judging the Champion of Champions Fleece Show.

All BAS members are warmly invited to exhibit at the show or to visit over the weekend for this fabulous event with fellow alpaca owners and enthusiasts. We also welcome visitors from around the world and the local community to experience the shows, meet some of the best alpacas in the UK and enjoy the social occasion.

About the 2026 Show

Once again we will have fantastic viewing facilities for the Halter Show from the ringside seating, giant screen and the mezzanine.  Simultaneous judging from two rings will also be streamed live on YouTube.

Alongside the halter show, the Champion of Champion Fleece show results will be announced and displayed, the Fibre Zone will welcome entries from all who seek to make wonderful products from alpaca fleece and the Trade and Sponsor Stands will showcase a whole range of alpaca products and services.

The on site cafe, bars and dining facilities provide ample opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to socialise and we will have an informal Friday Night Supper and Saturday Night Show Dinner to which all are welcomed.  The popular shuttle service will be running again between the showground and the local Premier Inn hotels across the show weekend and exhibitors are able to camp in the showground if they would like to.

We have held our prices at 2025 rates and the ‘all inclusive’ pen packages for exhibitors and weekend visitor passes mean you can just relax and enjoy.

Speaking of visitors, all are welcome – from friends and family to fellow alpaca enthusiasts from the local area and internationally.

Our regular newsletters, social media posts and show website will bring you all the details you need to know about entering various aspects of the show, buying visitor passes and all the logisitics you’ll need for the weekend itself.  We’ll also introduce you to the judges and the team behind the show, and whet your appetite for all the great stands and vendors you’ll see there.

If you’d like to support the show and your alpaca business, we have an ever more creative selection of sponsorship opportunities available and will also be running the fabulous stud auction in January / February.

National Show Committee

The National Show Committee is made up of dedicated show enthusiasts who volunteer their time to organise the National Show. The team members each bring different skills and many combined years of both organising and attending shows. They work to a terms of reference and budget that is agreed with the BAS Board and hope to put on a world class halter show and celebration of ‘all things alpaca’.
