BAS Affiliate Training Modules 1-4 Introduction to Alpacas, husbandry, health & handling

Time: 10:00am – 4:30pm (Lunch & Refreshments included)
Description: This practical hands on ‘one day’ training is ideal for new and prospective alpaca owners and those wanting to know more about caring for alpacas. The full day workshop will cover all aspects of basic husbandry and care, including vaccinations, worming, parasite control, supplements and will cover basic handling, gathering up and containing your your alpacas, the importance of correct halter fit with practice of how to fit a halter and guidance and practice in toenail trimming. Groups are kept small 8 – 10 (max) to ensure everyone can get the most out of the day in a truly relaxed setting, where questions are welcomed throughout the day. Ongoing support is provided after the course and by the time you leave you will have the confidence to know what to look for in your ideal alpacas, how to look after them to ensure they thrive and for you to gain the best experience going forward.
