***AHL El Capitan was in huge demand during the BAS 2025 National Show Stud Auction, for one service only the winning bid of £3,050 was donated to the BAS National Show. We have decided El Capitan will remain in-house only for the AHL family until further notice, however if you are interested in his genetics we have offspring and pregnant females available at Acton Hill. Alternatively if you are based in the East of England his half brother double Supreme Champion AHL Jailbreaker is now owned by Hilly Ridge Alpacas or if you are based in the South West AHL Le Chevalier half brother of El Capitan and son of National Supreme Champion Constantine is now owned by Carpalla Alpacas.***

El Capitan has a real presence in the paddock with a very impressive conformation and pleasing head type. He carries a bright extremely dense well organised fleece with no visible transition lines. He has retained a really good level of fineness and softness of hand.

In 2022 El Capitan joined our group of Elite breeding studs as a working male at Acton Hill and we spent the whole year looking forward to seeing his first progeny in the 2023 birthing season.

AHL El Capitan continues to have a huge impact on our breeding programme, he has achieved so much in such a short period of time growing from a standout cria to a highly desirable macho producing award winning progeny.

We held very high expectations of El Capitan as a sire so we set him to work at 2yrs of age, his first 6 cria arrived in the summer of 2023 and they well and truly delivered handsomely. As a result Capitan has been awarded an increase in covers year after year becoming our most important breeding male earning him the well deserved title King of the Hill.
El Capitan progeny are producing Supreme results collecting multiple Colour Championships, Reserve Supreme, Best British Bred Huacaya, Supreme Champion, Judges Choice and Sires Progeny Champion Sashes.

El Capitan has already sired multiple Supreme Champions including Acton Hill Girl on Fire, Oh Carolina, Blazing Inferno, Top of the Rock and Rivenherd Legend.

Not only has El Capitan passed on his award winning fleece traits he has consistently produced cria carrying his outstanding phenotype including his impressive head style. Its no surprise when you look at his pedigree, he boasts EP Cambridge Trail Blazer as his sire but his dam is also spectacular in her own right. El Capitan dam Houghton Bettina II continues to deliver outstanding offspring, Constantina her first daughter collected Judges Choice for her third fleece to add to her collection of sashes and Jailbreaker received his second Supreme Champion Sash of his first show season. Bettina is a standout female and she has most certainly passed on her look to El Capitan.

Acton Hill El Capitan first featured in the BAS National Show Stud Auction in 2024 securing a record high bid at the time of £1,250, the winning bidder Rivenherd Alpacas presented the outstanding Rivenherd Georgia in beautiful condition at Acton Hill HQ for a mating & at the first time of asking her pregnancy held. In the summer of 2025 she delivered a white male Rivenherd Legend who entered the showring for the first time at the 2026 Northern Halter Show. RVD Legend returned home to Rivenherd Alpacas as the First Place Junior White Male, Champion White Male & Supreme Champion Huacaya. We are delighted El Capitan has proven to be an outstanding investment for our friends at Rivenherd Alpacas.
