The Border Mill
A ‘mini-mill’™ in the Scottish Borders who process alpaca fleece and rare breed wool as well as other fibre producing species. They can process any quantity from a single fleece upwards. They produce a variety of products, including yarn, handwoven scarves, and blankets, all in natural and plant-dyed colours. The mill has an online store too.
East Anglia Alpaca Mill
Located near to Norwich & founded in 2010, the purpose-built mill uses bespoke machinery specifically designed for alpaca processing. The mill focuses on eco-friendly practices, such as rainwater harvesting and biodegradable products; they do not dye or blend their products, embracing the natural colours of alpaca. They only offer a spinning service for alpaca.
Services offered include single fleece processing, scouring, carding, spinning, winding, yarn matching, bespoke yarns, felting etc as well as offering ‘All About Fibre’ workshops & have an onsite/online yarn shop.
Lilipop Mill
Situated in Staffordshire, the mill is a family-run business that processes alpaca fibre to core spun products. They have their own herd of alpacas, which gives them a deep understanding of the fibre’s quality and beauty.
The mill offers a range of services, including spinning, carding, and felting as well as offering products & accessories via their online shop.
The Natural Fibre Company
Based in Cornwall, this mill processes a variety of natural fibres, including alpaca & sheep’s wool. They are unique in that they spin both woollen and worsted yarns under one roof and emphasize sustainability by recycling waste materials. Minimum quantity* 10kgs.
Two Rivers Mill
Based in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, Two Rivers Mill is a small scale worsted Mill processing alpaca fleece into high quality yarns for hand and machine knitting and weaving. They work with orders from 20kg to over 100kg and process pure Huacaya and Suri Fleece as well as in blends. As with the other Mills, Two Rivers is committed to environmental sustainability.
