This Autumn, I had the most amazing opportunity to travel to Australia as Roger was invited to judge the prestigious Melbourne Royal Show.

Following two long days of judging, we were able to kick back and spend some time enjoying many of the sights and experiences that Australia had to offer.

Of course our travels were not going to be ‘Alpaca Free’ and we took the opportunity to visit a good number of alpaca farms en route and get hands on with some of the country’s best alpacas. This included both the 2022 Australian National Supreme Huacaya and Suri.

We also had the chance to attend another local alpaca show and this time, I even got roped into exhibiting some alpacas.

Having enjoyed the fruits of Australia’s springtime, the worst part of our return was the typical autumnal Irish weather; rain, rain and yes, you’ve guessed it, more rain! Having had a taste of springtime on the other side of the world, I just can’t wait to welcome that season’s arrival here too.
