Transport

Should be undertaken with a suitable vehicle that is insured for the purpose

  • Any vehicle used must have adequate ventilation and bedding, 
  • When moving alpacas they must not be tied up, they will usually sit in transit.
  • Flooring to the trailer should be capable of being disinfected. 
  • Adult males and females must travel separately and should be divided by a solid partition.
  • Travelling time must be monitored and breaks factored in for feed and water. 
  • Commercial transporters are available.
